La morte improvvisa del padre costringe Christian, apatico diciannovenne, a trasferirsi da una monotona realtà di provincia alla vivace periferia multietnica di Milano, dove vive sua madre, Giulia.
Mentre Giulia vede il ritorno del figlio come un’opportunità per sanare il loro difficile rapporto, Christian inizialmente restio, accetta di iniziare a lavorare in un bar. Qui incontra Lucas, un ragazzo sudamericano, vicino di casa di Giulia e dipendente dello stesso bar; Lucas e il suo eccentrico nonno Juan, risvegliano l’immaginazione di Christian, che riprende in mano il suo primo romanzo ancora incompiuto. L’intesa tra Christian e Lucas evolve in un sentimento più profondo, che scuote l’animo di entrambi, aiutandoli a vedere la vita sotto una nuova luce. Per Christian è il ritorno alla motivazione, a scrivere e a guardare al futuro.
More than Yesterday
The sudden death of his father forces nineteen years old Christian to move from the province to the suburbs of Milan, to live with his mother Giulia. Christian gets a job as a bartender in his neighborhood where he meets Lucas, a South American colleague of his same age. Milan is a suburban reality that works as a welcoming environment, where, having a coffee at the local bar, meeting at the park with friends and walking through the streets, is a journey not only between past, present and future but also between different cultures; a perfect combination that will allow the two to get to know each other better and consolidate their relationship.
